Abstract

|
Headache and sleep problems are prevalent and burdensome in daily life. They can coincide and aggravate each other. The prevalence of sleep disorder is increased in chronic headache and migraine patients, suggesting a close clinical relationship between them. Structures from the brainstem to the cerebral cortex are related to sleep and headache modulation. Also, various neurochemicals are related and overlapped in modulation of sleep and headache. In this paper, we briefly discuss about the pathophysiological relationship and investigations between headache and sleep deprivation.
